My name is Angela Gotcher. I am studying Elementary Education at the University of Mary. I am originally from Milwaukee, WI.
During my time at the University of Mary, I have had many opportunities that have shaped me as a person and as a teacher.
One of the unique ways that I have been formed is through music. I participated in the University of Mary String Ensemble, private violin lessons, and orchestras. My passion for music gives me a unique opportunity to express myself and to engage students through integrating music into lessons.
In the fall of my sophomore year, I was able to spend a life-changing semester abroad in Europe. I lived in Rome, Italy for almost 4 months. I was also able to take a week-long trip to Paris to study the history of European art, which I had begun in Rome. I was surrounded by history and culture that opened my eyes to the richness of the human experience. This experience of culture drives my understanding of the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of my students.
In my free time, I love to be with friends, rock climb, play lots of music, and spend time outside.
